Chronicles of An Aspiring Trailer Composer
- I decided to document my journey of learning who to compose various genres of media music. My purpose is to share with other aspiring media composer various experiences that I have found myself traveling as I strive to become a media composer.
The Purpose...
- His experiences includes but are not limited to media composition, music production as well as voice-over skills. He has studied both modern and contemporary piano playing. Whenever he has the opportunity, he jumps into teaching music as well.
- So far, Jaythan has had the honor to score media music for various companies such as Honda, Toshiba, ITT, Outdoor Systems, US Robotics, and others! He is an active member of the Musician’s Union of Hollywood, CA (local 47), the BMI Songwriters Association, Songwriters Guild of America, Los Angeles Music Teachers’ Association, and also the American Federation of Musicians.
- Jaythan’s passion for music initiated when he was only 7 years old and had begun piano lessons.
- His interest in composing music for media was further elevated when his name was entered into the 1978 and 1979 editions of “Who’s Who in Music” textbooks for the Los Angeles, California versions of the national publication.
- Later, Jaythan also received a prestigious scholarship to study music at the California State University, Northridge. He was also accepted to attend the New England Conservatory of Music, in Hartford, CT.
- Apart from music, Jaythan has also always been fond of Television's Detective movies, and Investigative shows. He was often found glued to his black and white 13 inch T.V. screen during the 70's. Although Jaythan never had any formal training for film scoring, or media production, being passionate about the field, he completed several online training courses from the Trailer Academy, Evenant’s Trailer Classes, Cinematic Composing, Alex Pfeffer's Trailer Music Course, Daniel James’ Courses, Alex Moukala's Orchestral Music Course, and listened to 10s of thousands of hours of media music during his lifetime.

- I am so excited today. Aren't ya gonna think, "WHY?" Well, I will tell you why. TALLINN by Orchestral Tools. Tallinn features the world-famous Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir and Tallinn Chamber Orchestra plus two organs—all recorded in the iconic Niguliste Church. I've downloaded last night and have yet to play one key of the samples. So, I have decided to screencast it and possibly compose a short piece with it.
